Prayer Shawl Ministry Group
Several individuals have started a prayer shawl group. The group meets once a month to work on either a knitted or crocheted prayer shawl. Ability to knit or crochet is not a requirement, lessons and patterns are provided. We buy our own materials (yarn, hooks, needles). This a great way to get to know other church members in a small gathering while doing something of service. We work on our own during the month as well to create prayer shawls that are given to members of the congregation who are ill or grieving or in some way dealing with situations where the comfort of a prayer shawl would be helpful.
MEN AND WOMEN
Spirit Players
We welcome anyone who likes to perform to come to tryouts for our annual talent show. Well have several rehearsals and perform after church one Sunday. Under the talented direction of Maggie and Steve Baumer, singing, dancing, comedy, drama, juggling, we encourage young and old to show us what youve got. Its a lot of fun!
Community Focus
This group organizes the Arts on South Broadway and the Underground Music Festival and the Christmas Open House.

ADULT EDUCATION
Sunday School Meets 9 10 am Sundays. Several different groups meet. Choose one that appeals to you or try a different one each week. Currently, one led by Pastor Mark is reading and discussing the book The Future of Faith by Harvey Cox. Another, led by Ed Hawkins, is discussing how to incorporate faith sharing into our lives and our church.
Bible Study meets Thursday nights 7 8:30 in the Chapel with Pastor Mark. Check with the office before attending as some nights are skipped for special circumstances. No prior knowledge of the Bible is necessary. All are welcome for an in depth look at a bible passage followed by lively discussion led by Pastor Mark.
Book Group Come join us for laid-back conversation about various books on faith, personal growth and what it means to seek God in our lives. We will meet once a month on the first Tuesday at 7 pm in the Chapel. We have chosen the first few books, but other book selections will be decided by the interests of the group. Please come to the meeting having read the book and be prepared to share your thoughts and reactions.
HOSPITAL VISITATION
Although Pastor Mark personally tries to visit all church members at least once during their stay in the hospital as well as during long home illnesses, Peg Hawkins, Minister for Pastoral Care, is also available to spend time with ill and grieving individuals. You can call her directly or make contact through the church office.
WEDDINGS/FUNERALS
Weddings and funeral services are performed at the church subject to availability of the pastor and the Sanctuary. Contact the office for more information.
