Ministries and Committees– what they do

Worship: All aspects of worship (music, environment, flow, & celebration)
- Help to decide the order of worship
- Help to decide what special celebration we will do
- Helps to plan any extra worship celebrations that are other than Sunday
- Has input on music used
- Recommendations on instruments needed and used
- Create and make banners for special seasonal celebrations and for all Praises…
Nurture: Care of congregation, celebrations, fellowship (inside)
- Plan social functions of church &/or find people or groups to host them
- Help to host the activities
- Some activities that have been done –
- Birthday dinner – first of the year
- Outside worship lunches
- Christmas dinner
- St Patrick’s dinner
- Fall Festival in October
Facilities: Stewards of use, care, modification, and maintenance of Building, grounds, and equipment.
- Monitor the cleaning of the church by paid cleaner
- Plan improvement and modification projects – need to request help more from the congregation at large on projects – make sure we have all the information we need before we start - are there other people in the congregation that have some of the knowledge we need for some of these things
- Help other groups with “fix up projects” in rooms used
- Plan clean up/ fix up days – scheduled with office
Christian Education: Faith Development of the congregation (Nursery through Senior Adults)
- Help to develop Sunday school programs
- Help to teach
- Help to develop other study programs during the week
- Speakers of interest – scheduled
- Help build costumes, props, etc – for all education events
Mission/Outreach: Spreading good news in word & deed (outside)
- Plan outside service projects – help find people to do them
- Help other groups that would like to do a project, find one that is appropriate
Resources: Monetary resources to facilitate the mission of SBCC
- Put together the budget for each church year
- Help to manage the budget by going over large spending ideas with any Ministry that needs help on how to best use their money
- Help find ways to promote giving
- With Facilities help to find the funds for special projects
Communication: Information management – inside/outside to include Web site, signs, advertising and event promotions. Currently several people are doing the different parts of Communication – no actual group
- Suggestions for Web site and Messenger
- Help design and decorate bulletin boards for information
- Help design and decorate bulletin boards or signs to advertise church happenings
- Work with other Ministries in promoting and informing all on what is happening, what there is to do, when and so on….
Youth Ministry: Youth activities other than Sunday morning
- Help lead youth
- Help with youth group activities
- Be there for the youth with your knowledge on finding projects or helping with the details

CWF groups (Christian Women’s Fellowship)
One meets on 2nd Wednesday of month 11:30am – bring sack lunch
Circle of Friends meets on 2nd Saturday of month 8:30am - they take turns providing breakfast
Both groups have a devotion/lesson and prayer time

All ladies welcome at either group
* service projects include: canned food drive, Dress-A-Child at Colorado Christian Home, donating to Church World Service, sending our children to summer camp, hosting church family baby and wedding showers, and funeral receptions, hosting the church family Thanksgiving Dinner, donating to the Fall Festival
Spirit Players
* directed by Margaret & Steve Baumer (both have much experience in theater)
* productions put on for the church - usually after church and a light lunch
* do not need previous theater experience – these are FUN
Community Focus
* responsible for the Arts at South Broadway Concert Series
* people can sign up for specific events - set up or clean up.
