Action Night Once a month, usually the second Tuesday (check the current calendar), all are invited to attend this meeting. A light meal is served at 6. The meeting goes 7 to 8:30. Representatives from each of the boards and teams report on current business. It’s a great opportunity to find out what is happening in the church and how things get done. We’d love your presence, input and an opportunity to recruit you to work on activities within the church that are of interest to you.
Worship Team By invitation only. Meets monthly to plan the Sunday worship services. Responsible for all aspects of worship (music, environment, flow and celebration). Decide the order of worship, what music is used (including additional instruments needed), create and make banners for special seasonal celebrations.
Resources Team By invitation only. Deal with the monetary resources of the church. They put together the budget for each year. Help manage the budget by going over large spending ideas with any Ministry team that needs help on how best to use their money. Find ways to promote giving. Work with Facilities Team to find the funds for special building projects.
Facilities Team Stewards of use, care, modification and maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment. Monitor the cleaning of the church by the caretaker. Plan improvement and modification projects, help other groups with “fix up” projects in individual rooms, plan church-wide clean up/fix up days.
Education Team Help to develop and teach Sunday School programs for all ages, as well as other study programs during the week, schedule speakers, help build costumes and props for all education events.
Nurture Team Plan social functions of church or finds other groups to host them. Host the annual birthday dinner in January, the outside worship potlucks (once a month during the summer), Christmas dinner, St. Patrick’s Day dinner, Fall Festival chili cookoff.
Mission Outreach Team Plan outside service projects, find participants to do them. Help other groups that would like to do a project find one that is appropriate. Coordinates the group that serves the evening meal at the Denver Rescue Mission on the fourth Sunday of each month. Oversees the Sandwich Ministry, which makes sack lunches every Tuesday to deliver to the area poor.
Youth Ministry Team For youth activities other than Sunday morning. Help lead youth, and with youth group activities, be there for youth with your knowledge finding projects or helping with details.
Communication Team Information management both inside and outside church. Includes website, signs, advertising and event promotions. Make suggestions for website and monthly newsletter (Messenger). Help design and decorate bulletin boards to advertise church happenings and provide information. Work with other ministry teams on promoting, informing the congregation on upcoming events and volunteer needs.
